...fountain in new MARINA reservoir...

saw in the Straits Times yesterday that the Singapore governement is going to "plant" a 12-storey tall fountain at the new MARINA reservoir ... near to Kallang basin
what's that for? attract tourist? haha...another idea "copied" from overseas like our ferris wheel...which is nothing new...



the world tallest fountain (if i'm not wrong) in Geneve Switzerland...stands at 100m...I was amazed when my sis just came back from there with the photo...amazing...
our new fountain (12 storey abt 36 m) will stand pale to the 100m tall fountain in Geneve.

José Carreras concert

Last nite went for my 1st opera concert with my sis, "José Carreras: Celebrating 100 years of VCH with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra". It was to commerate the 100th anniversary for Victoria Concert Hall, the old dame of Singapore's colonial architecture, draped with big blue ribbons and bathed in changing colours flash lights.
It was basically a superb performance by José Carreras, no wonder he's one of the famous tenors trio. His vocal was very powerful...although got to agree that I dun really understand the meaning of the opera pieces he sang...but the his vocal was great and i was in awe...the evening repertoire was great with 3 encores...which finally the last 2 pieces are what I heard before...haha one of them is "Santa Lucia". Btw…it was alternate with 2 pieces of opera and a piece of classical music…and they were well chosen. realy enjoyed
