driving lesson today

1st time that i had my driving lesson in the rain...but drizzle but heavy rain...was quite bad...cos 1st experience ... things got a bti bad at teck whye area...too many vehicles...har...anyway at least tried to drive in the rain liaoz...got some experience le...
btw the practical test is on next year feb if nothing goes wrong...i can take test by then

a week of movies

watched 3 movies in this week...wow...haven't watched movies for a while and suddenly this week i watched 3 movies...death note (today), the departed (yesterday) and world trade center (tues)
death note...worth watching even if u did not have read the comic...if u read the comic its a must watch...although the main actor doesn't read fit the comic charater but the plot and pace fo the show is enuf...=)...will be catching the sequel

the departed...an adaptation from the famous HK film infernal affairs...jack nicholson shined in the show...the 1st part of the show is not that good...it picked up in the later part...though i still prefer the tony leung and andy lau verson...haha

world trade center...wasn't as dramatic as i thought it will be...the plot banked more on personal account by the survivours and pictured more on humanism the heroism and the american spirit...guessed the event still leaves a deep mark in the aemricans haence the played down on the terroism part and more on the emotions

frank gehry's talk

went for the frank gehry's talk today at ucc...it was full house...filled with architects and aki students...haha wodner if anyone plant a bomb there...then s'pore will not have anymore architects??? but then who wanna bomb a group of arhcitects? haha...

anyway...the talk was delayed and short...it seemed that frank gehry was not really prepared guess he was busy with the sentosa IR submisison...will the talk was on his recent projects...and mainly was liek a run through of his monograph...haha...guess managed to grasp some of his basic principles on the whole...=)...wasn't that bad...

driving final theory test

finally going to take my final theory test this 4th Nov...took the evaluation test at bbdc today...pass with one try and then booked my FTT date le...hehe...my practical lesson also just passed stage 3...guess will be taking test soon le bah....but then still not that conifident...haiz...

there is actually a list of things i wanna get when i start working:

3. gym membership
4. leather strap watch
5. a new sports shoes

haha...this actually wat i wanted to get...and guess wat...i got the most expensive one 1st, which is the gym membership (somemore the infinity membership) at california fitness (after discussion with ben)...now i have to put the rest on hold for abt a year le...haiz...realised i shld have pay thru 24 months insatlment instead of 12 months...haiz abit strainful on my pocket...but will try to survive...=/

a very hazy day with the psi hitting the highest so far abt 140...haiz when will this haze stop?

went to bring back my selected studio photo to photowerks studio for the development of the big canvas prints...(suddenly went i got bk home my mum ask me whether did i bring the correct one...hmmm...hopefully not) then met a fren there...then went to sim lim...he got to get wireless keyboard n mouse n a webcam...then we went to eat gui ling gao...keke

evening time...met another gp of frens to see the new vivocity...i have been waiting for its openning since its design by a famous japanese architect Toyo Ito...not alot of shops are open yet...plus the crowd..made the place abit hard to navigate..cos it abit of a circular plan...but the roof scape is very interesting with a nice shallow pool...the wavy roof form...the idea of wall and floor merging...guess the view from the roof would be nice when the haze is away...din manage to explore the whole building yet...guess it would be better to explore it when all the shops and everything is settled...=)...nice nice

happenings in the past weeks

finally completed my 3ds max 8 basic training course today...have been a long 2 weeks...but life has been good...cos can "escape" from office work...having the course on alternate days is quite good at least u won't be detached from you work...get to follow on ur own project...the course has been very basic so its name "basic trainign"...learnt how to model 3d objects do some simple animation, rendering and stuff...quite amazed by the rendering power of 3ds max..and the freeform capabilty it has...(maybe i'm "山龟") cos in sch i uses other 3d programs more for architecture works like revit and sketch up...haha when i went back office...joyce, my team leader say..."so u now expert in 3d modelling le hor...must put u to a test"...opps...

me still considering whether to go for the frank gehry talk or not on the 16th oct monday...cost $50 leh...hmmm then some of my frens not going...hmm shld i?

oh ya and the musical is coming to s'pore next year late march...suppose to watch with my sis...but then her frens jio her...so...will be watching with my good fren, jason and still waiting for my very good fren, ben ben to see whether he can make it or not...cos he's on course, in case its time for his exams...=)...
