ah...today sent benjamin at the airport for his work stint at shenzhen, china. as his flight was quite early in the morning, had to wake up much much early (at 5am) then my normal wake up time to send him off...haha...sicne he's my good buddy since jc...=)...hope he enjoy his new job and all the best in china

later on in the day had lunch and watch harry potter with a friend ... not bad the movie ... esp. when i heard quite good reviews from my friends ard me ... much much darker theme than the pervious sequels ... the young actors and actresses had all grown up ... haha kinda of like seeing their growth from the 1st harry potter movie til now ... the special effects were quite good too ... the dragons, "mermaids", ... but the little romance story was abit ... "extra" i think ... haha ... anyway worth a watch ... esp if u had watched the previous harry potter sequels

老九 & the new Singapore Arts School

last weekend, caught a chinese theatre production 老九 with junhan. it was one of the very few theatre production that i have been too. this producition of 老九 is a re-adaptation of Kuo Pao Kun's (郭宝昆) original play to a musical. din catch the original play b4, but the musical is quite a touching story, the theme mainly focusing on the struggle between reality n dreams...after watching the musical, feel like watching the original play...

btw the new Singapore Arts School's design was also revealed last weekend and an exhibition on the deisgn process is currently on exhibtion at the new NLB til 27th Nov. the winning design is by WOHA...the architecture wil fill the "gap" at the junction of bras basah and selegie road next to cathay building n opp SMU. the deisgn is based on the concept of backdrop and blank canvas. the whole building looks abit monumental...lets see how it will be refined along the way ...

is it appropriate treatment to a old building? some find it refreshing in the surrounding dull greyish buildings...some view it as not respecting the old building...well well at least it is attention-seeking and give it a sort of visual break...

Singapore 1:1 at URA

An exhibition on selected architecture that marks the 40 years of Singpore independence. one can see that most of the "heroic" architecture during the post independence being the most significant...althoguh the exhibition is not that consitent cos i guess the respective firms are responsible for the panels...so abit "messy". Then attended quite an insightful talk by the exhibtion curator which is also one of NUS tutor, Dr Wong Yun Chii. =)

an interesting n tiring saturday

it had been quite awhile since i've played tennis not say with sneakies...
booked the court at NUS at 11am...at least this time round only 4 of us...so not much waiting for each other...
played for almost 2 hrs...weather was good cos quite cloudy for a typical 12 noon weather...=P

too bad ben ben couldn't join us for lunch, cos he was feeling well after the game...think kena diarrhoea...

in the afternoon had an interesting urban walk around city centre...with junhan...went to see the old thong chai medical hall now with a new usage...(check out Junhan's blog for more details) and then went over to riverside point where the singapore hsotory museum is temporaily at...but nothign much to see...so we din go in...(it has quite a nice view towards clarke quay though)

we went to see hows the redevelopment gogin on for clarke quay..with the new intervention by Alsop...the big brollies...and pods...well well...actually the pods fronting the river edge is quite nice...creating a more intmate cosy feeling...thin the brollies can be more refined...the protuding part...haha

walk to MICA...n happen to see an exhibition of kids craft work of maskes and puppets...then we went to central fire station to view the museum/gallery space...went there at the last min b4 it closes...the person-in-charge...this uncle fireman...quite friendly...and realised we could visit the fire tower but had to be an arranged trip...usually at friday at 6.45pm just give them a call...and we took a awhile to see the exhibits...quite interestinglydone up...

drop by funana for jh to get this computer's accessories...then we went over to St. Andrew's cathedral to see the new intervention on the St Andrew's grounds...dinnoe that it was quite a huge excavation...=)..haha n its my 1st time to see the interior of the cathedral...

ended with with us buying the tickets for Lao Jiu musical at the new Drama Centre next sat...=)

For those who are expecting somethign new or surprising form this album, sad to say is that there isn't much experimental songs in this album, the songs are quite like shadows of his previous songs...still it's coolz...
