Chinatown CNY "shopping"

went with my family to chinatown today to walk walk see see at the cny pasar malam...not as crowded as previous year...but still quite crowded...and the famous bak kwa store also dun have the super long queue liaoz...guess its the economic recession???

few days back...my sis was aksing me if the song 打错了 was written by tanya chua...cos she sang it in a taiwan variety show...haha yeap the song was writeen by her...my sis commented that Faye Wong made the song more alive than Tanya...ya indeed...today i started listening to some of her songs on my iPhone...she did gave life to the songs...maybe she was able to capture the mood of the songs...although she is a diva...but the way she sings...the mood the feel...is quite 小女人...very 执著 and also folly...haha...well well thats her...very faye...a pity that she is not cutting anymore album...although i wa snot her fan last time...but still miss her voice...=)

intermittent week

just had an intermittent week of super bz and super bored cos of waiting & waiting...and it ended yesterday with a last burst of bziness that end my work at about 9pm...eeewww...shucks...all my cny mood was lost again...wat to do? hmmm...all that for a potential job...haha collaborating with any govt agency...messy messy...anyway sat lor....cny mood picking up again...haha

moNday

yesterday at work discovered a big oversight on my side...missed out "per month" for one of the quotes...oops luckily it was not an offical agreement yet...phew...
ah then met up with jun han & wykeith for dinner...been a long time since we meet up? a year??? ah...thos were the times when sneaky 8 was playing beach volley, tennis every now & then during uni times...now we hardly meet...ah noone bother to organsie a gathering...ha...maybe cos all along last nite...i was usually the mastermind....anyway it was great catching up...everyone is oding fine...i mean the 3 of us out of the 8 in sneaky...we had a dinner and cakes at ps cafe...very full by then...hehe...JH is now doing part time masters in international studies in nus...while wykeith is completing his aki course after his intern ship...though a pity to be graduating at this time...JH was thinking of staying out...getting a place to stay since propoerty price is dropping now...wow he is rich???hmmm...guess its good to stay out...have more freedom n independence...its more of how receptive ur folks at home is to the idea of staying out...at least he has no prob with that...whihc is good...dun think this would be possible in my context...watever...

eventful weekend

ah...had a quite eventful weekend...

fri: had my company d&d...theme treasure island...phew...MD speech say they will continue the practice of no retrenchment...

sat: played tennis...watched milk...we see how warp is american's idea of democracy from then til now

sun: visited my cousin in NUH...sad...on how life can be so fragile in front of cancer...then went to attend my dad side extended family gathering...buffet dinner...was ok...friendly bunch of people...as usual not close to those at my generation...haha...thats all

mid week

tillnow in the mid of the week ... particularly nothing much exciting has happened ...

work has kinda of getting quite boring ... no design work at the moment ... preparing proposal for new potential projects ... quite lucky that at this time there are still people kncking at our door ... well but they not confirm yet ... need to get some of them in order to sustain my job and the rest ... well well ... part of life ... boring $$$ figures ... schedule ... emails ... (suppose to be priviledged to be preparing proposal for boss ... ha)

hurr hurr ... life goes on anyway ... just hope that can get hold of the SNG-PAV-WE project ... which i put in alot of effort ... a design that I can call my own ... oops ... haha

and there is this annual D&D this friday at meritus mandrain ... theme treasure island ... but who cares ... my team hasn;t really bothered about such stuff ... dun think we will speacailly go n dress up for the event ... neither have we attended any company welfare activities ... haha ... thats how AS my team can be ...

anyway there is always the weekend to look forward to ... c",)

赤壁 II / Red Cliff II

Caught 赤壁 II on Sunday with my sis at GV vivo.

Impressive battle scenes...red cliff and also a "red" fire wall during the important war battle in the romance of three kingdoms...

For the 2nd installment of the movie, it focused more on the actual battling...hence lost the essence of the 1st part where there are more showcase of 孔明 & 周瑜 strategies...

Also the movie portrayed 周瑜 as a gentlemen, however the story actually describes on how jealous is he of 孔明...and also the reasons for various scenes between 孔明 & 周瑜...which was lost in this movie...(according to my sis, an ardent fan of the story)

nonetheless the movie is worth watching especially on the big screen, with the epic battle scene

PONYO

Caught the new Miyazaki cartoon on Friday...so Kawaii Ponyo...haha...
oops...some of my frens might say its childish or retard? maybe i'm a sucker for cute stuff...

its quality is good...even if its a 2D hand drawn animation as compared to the 3D-computer animated films from pixar or dreamworks...makes you feel like going back to the basic

a very heart warming plot...though very whimsical...guess the jap has a very creative mind in a very boiled up society? (probably the idea of escapism comes in?)...even having the pre-historic aquatic animals in the show...(probably there is a hint of earth-friendliness here? or really the idea of everlasting love?)
the issues of relentlessly pursuing your dreams, love crosses borders (even in this case a goldfish n a boy) are put across in this cartoon...the innocent ponyo going all out to transform herself to a human...

oops did i reveal too much? maybe those who like kawaii stuff or dun mind kawaii stuff shld go n catch it...c",)

Hi everyone, wishing you guys a happy new year!!!

2008 has past and 2009 has sneaked in.

Year of 2008 has past by quite quickly. It has been quite a fulfilling year be it work or life. Ah i guess things have moved quite smoothly on my side, and I'm satisfied with the year of 2008. The wide range of projects that I handled at work from master plan in middle east (with many probs, din take off yet...ha) to the recent tender project (still not announced results so secret) haha...has been interesting. Other things like the mini promotion at work or forging new friendships or travelling has made my 2008 great, not forgetting the support form my family, friendship and comrades at work, c",).

Lets hope the 2009 will be as fulfilling and having new experiences in life.
